Who We Are

Kids 1 Camp is a sleep-away camp in Esopus, NY for children – ages 4–15 with various special needs. This one-week session is catered to all campers’ abilities including those with moderate to severe special needs.

Our mission is for our campers to enjoy being kids while feeling safe and comfortable with individualized activities and attention. Held at the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus (MBCE), the facilities include accessibility for all to enjoy what the grounds have to offer. The MBCE includes accommodations for children to fulfill their daily routines and enjoy plenty of recreation supervised by a caring and nurturing staff of volunteers. These include: large courtyard and garden sitting areas, indoor/outdoor dining, accessible sleeping area with bathrooms, a large gymnasium, recreational common areas, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, large sports field, Olympic sized pool, sprinkler park, outdoor playground, swing sets and more.

Support the MHVC

Campers are a diverse group of children and adolescents from NYC and beyond. All campers must have an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) in place.

Generous donations for scholarships and materials allow for this camp to provide an affordable tuition or assistance when necessary. We want every family to have the camp experience regardless of any challenges.
