Jason Jurgens has been a member of the MBCE-MHVC family since 1988. Jason currently serves as Session Director of Sacred Heart Camp, the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp dedicated to serving children from Highbridge, an economically-challenged section of the Bronx. He first assumed that position in 2007 after serving as a volunteer counselor at various Mid-Hudson Valley Camps for nearly two decades. A graduate of Archbishop Molloy High School (‘92), Jason also explored Esopus as a camper and a retreat participant. Away from Esopus, Jason is a partner in the Financial Markets Practice of Jones Day, an international law firm, where he advises financial institutions with respect to litigation and regulatory risks. Jason lives in Manhattan with his wife and twelve-year-old son.
Jason is an active member of the Saint Paul the Apostle Parish near Lincoln Center where he taught religious education for several years. He also founded a CYO basketball program at Ascension near Morningside Heights. In addition, Jason currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Columbia Law School Association and the Advisory Board of Legal Outreach, a not-for-profit that uses the law as a tool to prepare high school students from underserved communities for college.
