James M. Raimo Sr.

Executive Director

Jim Raimo was hired in July 2019 to serve as the Executive Director of the MBCE-Mid-Hudson Valley Camp, Inc. (Marist Brothers Center at Esopus/MBCE). Before joining the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus he worked in Higher Education for over 35 years. 21 years at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburg serving as the Vice President for Auxiliary Service, Acting President, Vice President for Facilities and Operations and Executive Director. Prior to the Mount he worked at Marist College in Poughkeepsie New York in the Student Affairs Department as the Director of Housing and Residential Life. He also worked at St. Cabrini Home in West Park, Y.W.C.A. in Poughkeepsie and the Children’s Home in Poughkeepsie/Hyde Park. He has also owned several business in Hyde Park,NY (a Deli/Restaurant and property management business). Jim grew up on Long Island in the Town of Port Washington.

Jim is currently the Chair of the Facilities Committee of the Newburgh Armory Unity Center and Chair of the Regina Coeli Parish Finance Council. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Director of the Astor Services for Children and Families and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Children’s Foundation of Astor. In addition, Jim was Chair of the Finance Committee for Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan Counties Board. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years serving as Treasurer, Deputy Grand Knight and Grand Knight. He has served as Treasurer and President of the Newburgh Rotary Club.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts Degree and his Paralegal Certificate from Marist College in 1981 and his Master of Arts in Public Administration also from Marist in 1992. He has also taught in the Marist Computer Science & Information Systems Department as an Adjunct Instructor. Jim, his wife Carol and their family have lived in Hyde Park for 30 years where they attend Regina Coeli Church. He is the proud father of three adult children James (and his wife Allison), Carly (and her husband Anthony) and Jack.
