Chair, Development Committee
Finance Committee

In 2015, Coleen Waldron was asked to join the Board of MBCE due to her relationship with the Center and her expertise in finance. Coleen has witnessed her nephew Matthew, and niece Deirdre, volunteer at Esopus for over 20 years and was always moved at how they consider Esopus a second home. Hearing them speak of the time they spent at camps and how everyone there became “family”, Coleen accepted the invitation to join the Board and is committed to volunteering her time and talents to help the Center grow and flourish. In 2018, Coleen was named Secretary of the Board. She currently serves as Chair of the Development Committee, and under her charge the team has been able to secure numerous grants that have gone a long way to support the longevity of the Center. Coleen is also an integral member of the MBCE’s Finance Committee.

Coleen has volunteered as a support car driver for MBCE’s Century Ride in September 2019 and most recently joined the Esopus Runners as one of the more than 100 people who ran/walked to honor the memory of Br. Bob Andrews and to raise funds for MBCE. Coleen is a graduate of St. Vincent Ferrer High School (’79) and St. John’s University (’83), in addition to the College for Financial Planning (’10) where she obtained her Master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning. Coleen is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®), which arms her with expertise in the financial planning process, including investments, cash flow, and more. Since 1984, Coleen has worked for a multinational family, first in their retail organization, then with the U.S. family service office and now serves as Vice President in their U.S. philanthropy organization.

Coleen has experienced firsthand the special bond that forms between those who dedicate their time to being involved with Esopus and enjoys being part of such a special place. Coleen feels privileged to work with such talented and generous individuals who donate their time to being part of the Esopus family.
