Title
Matt Amore was introduced to the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp in 1998 by his high school guidance counselor, Francis Curley. He went on to volunteer at Young Adult, Kids 1 and 2, and Camp Hope — becoming the camp director of Young Adult and serving as chairperson of the Committee of Camp Directors. Additionally, Matt lived at the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus as a volunteer with Br. Don Nugent and Br. Joe Matthews in the 2007-2008 retreat season. Matt was a special education teacher in the New York City Dept. of Education for 13 years, working in different elementary and middle schools in Manhattan. He currently works as an Instructional Coach, mentoring and deepening teacher practice. Matt’s other service leadership experience comes from being a team leader with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village — having participated and led seven international service projects with the organization. He is eternally grateful for the countless memories, friendships, laughs, and loving moments shared as a result of his time at Esopus.
