April began her professional career at Marist University (College), where she served as a Resident Director of Leo Hall with the Office of Housing and Residential Life for seven years. In that role she directly supported hundreds of Marist students. She planned and executed many campus wide events including FoxFest, Residence Hall-oween, and Community Service Day. She played an integral role in helping the institution reopen to resident students in the fall of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, April switched positions and worked for Family Services in Poughkeepsie, first serving as their Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator and then as their Employee Engagement and Benefits Manager. In this role she developed strategies to improve engagement, guide and assist employees with their benefits, and manage programs designed to enhance the agency’s culture. In the summer of 2024, April returned back to Marist to work as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations working in the Office of Advancement to help with alumni event planning and engagement, stewardship and continuing to support the needs of all Marist alumni. She also serves part time as an adjunct professor at Marist with the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. April obtained a BPS in Fashion Merchandising from Marist in 2012 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 2017.
Throughout her years on the Marist campus, she was able to connect and form lifelong relationships with many Marist Brothers and in turn learned about the importance of the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus both in the history of the Marist Brothers as well as what the Center stands for to this day. April has volunteered as a member of the Esopus Runners team, has been a helpful in day-of logistics for the Hall of Fame, and continues to be active in center events and celebrations. In her free time, April enjoys running, eating at local food spots, and being a fan of the Hudson Valley Renegades.
