Sacred Heart

Who We Are

Sacred Heart is a week-long sleep-away Summer Camp, part of the Marist Brothers Mid-Hudson Valley Camp in Esopus, NY. Each week of the summer a different group of campers from second to eighth grade experience the joy of being part of the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp family. For nearly 40 years, one of those weeks has been set aside for the children of Sacred Heart School in the Highbridge Section of the South Bronx, New York.

Sacred Heart Summer Camp furthers the mission and embodies the values of the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp by committing to the following goals:

• Create a safe, warm and loving environment for the campers
• Ensure that each and every camper has fun!
• Instill a sense of independence in our campers
• Build each camper’s confidence and self-esteem
• Encourage our campers to try new activities
• Promote mutual-respect and self-respect
• Help our campers develop lasting friendships
• Mentor our volunteers to become leaders and role models for our campers
